Finally! A Kinder Beauty Box that I’m excited to write about! And that I had fun with!!

Hi all. Time for a very late review of the Kinder Beauty October Deluxe Box. I say late, but it’s just going to be a new schedule. I’m experimenting with going a little easier on myself. This new job is about triple the work I was doing and I have zero time to make progress on any of this at work like I was doing before. Now it’s eating into my gaming and relaxing and chores time, so I’m having to be a little creative.

Skin update before I go forward; I haven’t picked significantly for about two months now, which is the longest I have ever gone in my own memory. Like I said to my boyfriend the other day on our walk, I don’t have any real memories of my face being this smooth and healthy. I have been picking at it consistently since I was tall enough to see it over the bathroom counter.

You may or may not have any idea how much of a relief it is to think that I might be past it, but also how afraid I am to fall back into the habit.

My skin, due to how well I’ve been doing, is very smooth and has very few blemishes. There is a dry patch to the right of my mouth but other than that I’m free and clear.

For the month of October I decided to spend the extra $10 and purchase the Deluxe Box. This is actually a pretty good deal if you think you’ll use the items, but I’ll get into all that. When you get the deluxe box you receive the three items that are in both boxes, and the two unique items from each box. They very cleverly made the two unique items from each box match up so that the deluxe seemed like a no brainer, and it worked on me, I’ll totally admit it.

First let’s talk about the three items that both boxes contained:

First is the Mudmasky Serum-Infused Eye Mask.

This is a brand I’ve used before and I have actually always wanted to rediscover them. Years ago I used their after mask serum, the one designed for use after a mud mask, and it was incredible, so I was excited to try this.

Mudmasky uses thin and long tubes for their masks and serums, and they have a screw-off cap that makes it easy to access the product. This particular formula is very drippy, so it poured out of the container faster than I was expecting and I did lose some.

The product itself is very wet and feels hydrating, and also has a lot of little bits in it but they’re soft bits like ingredients and plants or something, not scratchy at all. This product claims to be designed specifically for the skin around your eyes, which is important as this skin is certainly different from the rest of your face and body.

I left it on for a little longer than I was planning, and my skin felt very smooth and hydrated after use. This honestly might be nice to just use over my whole face, since it’s a dry season and I’m needing a lot more hydration.

The next item in common between both boxes is the Dew Drops Mini Serum by the brand Three Ships. I actually used this product up within the first few days of receiving it. It was three or four uses probably and felt incredibly smooth and silky when I put it on so I just didn’t stop until it was empty, a day or two later.

Since it was just a sample size I can’t really say long term what its like, or review the actual packaging. But it was nice and refreshing and I liked using it, and it didn’t cause any huge issues with my skin or my make up or anything ^-^

The last item in common is a shaving kit from Jill. I’m not really sure what to write about this. I do shave my face regularly and have been for several years, but have never tried an actual kit designed for it. I have always just used my regular razor, switched it out for a new one and done my face first.

While this isn’t a review of actual face shaving, I will say that I am very happy I got into this habit. My face feels smoother and thus I have less of a desire to pick, and my makeup sets better on top of a smooth shave. I have not noticed any issues over the last few years and love how my face feels and looks after shaving.

So I’ve used this a couple of times and am so far very happy with it. The kit came in a little pink tube with one razor handle already loaded and one refill, plus one cute little pink washcloth for – something? Wiping my face after?

So I applied some of my cleansing oil and started in on the skin on my cheeks where I have the most milia. Before I used it on my face I did check the sharpness on my finger and it wasn’t sharp at all from what I could tell, but I figured they design these so you can’t hurt yourself and so they’re more gentle.

So it took a little time to get the angle right and actually when using it on my face I did feel that it was sharp, but even when I got the angle wrong there were no actual cuts or anything, I could just feel that it was closer to the skin.

It wasn’t like in the advertisements where the girl shaves with it and it takes off layers and layers of hair and oil and skin and stuff, but I did go up and get a little bit around my eyebrows and saw that it was definitely getting the hair and exfoliating a little bit.

It’s been a few hours since the last time I used it and I have a gel mask on, and so far there’s been no irritation or redness or anything. I am going to try using it with just water at some point to see how it does like under running water, and then with actual shaving cream or oil, and then possibly dry, just to see the quality of the razor. I don’t talk much about it, but I use Athena Club for my shaving and those razors you can go wet, dry, oil, foam, anything you want and it’s still a nice clean close shave.

So those are the three items that come in both boxes and my impressions of them so far. Each box came with two other items exclusive to that box, but since I paid for the deluxe, I got all four. Super glad I got all four.

The first brand featured in both boxes is Ethique, and their two products were the Shampoo Bar and the Conditioner Bar. I’ve used these several times now; since I don’t wash and condition my hair as regularly as some others do, I don’t have as many opportunities to try out hair products.

The packaging for both items is just a little cardboard box with the bar inside it. Nothing special or fancy but it does the job, and these little packages do have a ton of writing on them. Ingredients, pledges, instructions, etc. So I felt like I got a good idea of what I was getting into before opening the products.

I have never used a shampoo bar or any hair product bar. I don’t have anything against it, it just had never come up. I’d seen them at Lush before but they didn’t exactly scream my name, they were just a cool thing I guess. But I was happy to try them when I got these ones.

The shampoo bar is much larger, which works for me because I shampoo twice. I opened it, hopped in the shower, wet my hair and the bar, and just started seeing what happened when rubbing it on my head. Nothing happened really at first, but when I started making circular motions pressing against my scalp, some of the product started to lather. I flipped and did the same thing around back. It did take some time to lather up, but it was a good lather and smelled and felt nice. I left it in for a minute or two and then rinsed, which did leave my hair feeling that kind of sticky feeling when you have no oil on it. I did another lather to be true to how I usually do my hair, and it obviously lathered up much faster because of that thing we learn in third grade science class. This lather I usually leave in while I do some other shower thing, which I did here as well. Then rinsed it out, same thing. So far so good.

The conditioner bar seemed to disperse product a little bit better, but getting it through all my hair was more of a chore because it really needed to coat everything and conditioner doesn’t lather. So I ran it through my hair with my fingers out like a comb, and that seemed to help. I also tried flipped my hair over, using the conditioner bar in circles over the back of my skull, then brushing the product through, and this worked too.

Conditioner I usually leave in for at least five minutes while I do other things, so that was the plan here too. When I rinsed it out it definitely felt silky and like my hair had been nourished, and in the morning it felt very smooth. Still a little bushy, like my hair always is, but that’s okay.

So I consider these good products and will definitely use them for just everyday wash and conditioning. I probably won’t repurchase them but may look out for other products from this brand to try, since these were very good and look like they’re going to last a long time.

The other brand that appeared in both boxes is Fleur + Bee. One box got the H2 Oh Yeah Moisturizer and one got the Prince Charcoal Detox Clay Mask. These products absolutely wowed me and I’ve already ordered another of one of them.

The packaging for these items and this brand is cute, a little white box with rose gold accents, and the actual jar is a dark brown with a shining rose gold lid.

The moisturizer is a gel texture and is a yellow color like squash. It has a nice subtle fragrance, kinda sweet, something like apple pie but not apples, but just warm like pie. I don’t know.

It is an excellent formula. Not super heavy and thick, but definitely incredibly nourishing. I have been using it diligently since I opened the box. It goes under my other products like a dream, and I feel moisturized all day without the oily sticky feeling when you have too much product. I can even use it over my other serums with no issue. It doesn’t take very long to sink in either. One of the best moisturizers I have ever tried. I just placed an order for another to have as a backup.

The clay mask was amazing. Still is, I’m about a third of the way through the jar and cannot stop using it.

The texture is a lot more like what you’d imagine clay feeling like. Smooth and a little wet. It goes on a little lumpy maybe, but with a little water it sheers out and gets more of an even layer. The fragrance is very nice, like refreshing, kinda minty or eucalyptus or something.

I use it for a few hours at a time, a pretty thin layer, and it doesn’t dry down or get all cracked or broken or painful. Washing it off, my skin feels cleansed and purified but not stripped, and I usually use an exfoliator after to deal with my milia.

I’ve enjoyed this mask a ton and will certainly purchase it again as well as looking out for other items from this brand to try.

This was the most exciting Kinder Beauty Box I have ever received – and about time, honestly, nothing else has ever got me thrilled like this. I think it was an excellent idea to match brands in both boxes and make the deluxe box not only seem like a good bang for your buck, but also make it seem like you’re missing out on half of a whole if you only get one or the other. In the future I’ll probably continue buying the deluxe box.

Thanks for reading! With this new schedule I’m hoping to be able to just put out a review each week, so stay tuned.
